Signs of Independence
Audrey is starting to show more and more signs of independence. Which I love because that means we are one step closer to adding a new addition to our family. We're still a couple of years off... but still!
One of my coworkers is pregnant with her first child and oh man does it take me back to when my belly was rapidly growing with a little miracle inside. My baby fever is running high right now and I need to take something that will temporarily break it. However, Shawn's baby fever is staying pretty low at the moment. I'm not a relationship expert or anything but I'm pretty sure we both have to be running a high fever for something to happen... but as my parents say, "It's not up to us, it's up to Him."
Anyway, I was saying that Audrey's showing signs of independence... you get me talking about another baby and I go off on a little tangent. So... where was I? Oh yes, Sunday morning, Audrey and I were cooking up some biscuits and gravy for the man of the house. I was at the stove, Audrey was in her cabinet playing with her food as she always does while I cook. She likes to pull everything out and then put everything back in and then pull everything out... and most of the time she just leaves it for me to put back in. I let her do it because she enjoys it and it's better than her crying with her head dug into my legs while I stand at the stove, I'll just be honest with you folks.
That particular morning, the kitchen got awfully quiet all of a sudden and I turned to find the cabinet open, food all over the floor... but no Audrey. I walk into the living room and found her sitting in front of the television with her goldfish just eating away (and crumbs everywhere). This was a P.M.M (Proud Momma Moment) for me. She got into her cabinet, found her goldfish, crawled into the living room holding her goldfish bag, opened her goldfish on her own all because she wanted a snack!!
That's my girl!!! So, next should be breaking her of the pacifier (ahem we still haven't done that), walking, fully potty-trained, and verbally communicating with people (not in that particular order) and then Mommy and Daddy's baby fevers should start to go up a little.

Hooray for bits of independent milestones. They are a joy to experience.
Hahahaha! I love that this happened! I can just picture her digging in that bag while looking at the tv. So awesome!
I'm so proud of Audrey for going after what she wanted. Smart girl!
WOW! Audrey Sue, I always knew you were the COOLEST! I loved picturing her crawling with her goldfish to watch television. She's so sweet. Love to all the Hannons.
